Not that you’d be able to tell by looking out the window this rainy week, but summer is just around the corner, school’s out, and that means only one thing — the WRCT summer schedule is here!
Many of your favorite shows are continuing with us through the summer, and we’ve got some newly-minted DJs ready to cut their teeth on our summer airwaves. Our lines are always open, so give us a call and request your favorite songs as we head into nicer weather!
Remember that hardware failure we had awhile ago that knocked our webstreams offline? Well, we had a temporary fix in place to bring the streams back up for the past month or so. That fix has been replaced with a proper repair part, and we’re back up and running again!
Thanks go out to all our loyal listeners for bearing with us during a semester that has seen a higher-than-usual number of hardware failures. We’re hoping to push through some upgrades to our computing infrastructure this summer, so stay tuned for more news on that front soon (hopefully).
It’s that time of year again — Spring Carnival has come to CMU’s campus! As we’ve done for longer than we can remember, WRCT will once again be covering the Buggy / Sweepstakes races this weekend. Our coverage this year comes to you in cooperation with cmuTV and the CMU Buggy Alumni Association. If you’re coming to watch the races, remember to bring a portable radio and listen in!
Live coverage of the races will air on 88.3 MHz for listeners on the Buggy course and in the Pittsburgh area, as well as streaming live at wrct.org. Coverage begins 8am Friday and Saturday morning, barring any technical difficulties. Regularly-scheduled programming will be pre-empted during this broadcast.
Listeners tuning in to hear the Saturday Light Brigade this Saturday can find a list of SLB affiliate stations and live online streaming at slbradio.org.
