A Minute Pause: Christmas Edition

Did you miss The Best Worst Christmas Ever, on A Minute Pause with Shawn Watson this week?  Well then, good news:  Since Shawn is out of town on Christmas Eve, WRCT will be replaying the 4 hour show in it’s entirety this TuesdayChristmas Eve Dec. 24th, 2013 from 10am until 2pm.

Enjoy some off the beaten path “Christmas” songs from many different genres including: Jazz, Blues, Funk, Old School Hip Hop, Punk and more!

Pinkney Hall: December show themes

Tune into Pinkney Hall on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. for the follow themed broadcasts:

Friday, December 6 — For Pinkney Hall’s first show of December, we will feature music by local musicians.

Friday, December 13 — We will forgo the “superstition” theme and play music by folks born in December.

Friday, December 20 — On December 20, we will play music related to Jesus of Nazareth. No Christmas carols or holiday music though!

Friday, December 27 — On the last show of the year, we’ll play some of the best music that came into the station in 2013.


Upcoming On-Air Events!

There’s a lot going on this weekend in the world of WRCT.

On tomorrow’s edition of the Saturday Light Brigade, tune in for Mexican guitarist Dieter Hennings and conductor Federico Garcia!

Beginning at 3pm, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, we will broadcast “November 22, 1963: Portrait in Sound”.

It will be produced and narrated by WRCT host Jay Thurber, the hour-long program blends interviews with Carnegie Mellon University alumni (recorded in 2003), the hit songs of November 1963, original news broadcasts and Dallas police radio transmissions.
