PINKNEY HALL: MAY THEMES

Every Friday morning, tune into Pinkney Hall. During May, you will hear music with the following themes, along with newly released music and music from artists appearing in Pittsburgh. All in  the space of one hour – from 9 AM to 10 AM.

May 6 – We’ll be honoring Muddy Waters.

May 13 – Kenny Joe will be out in the woods, far from the WRCT studios.

May 20 – No theme for May 20 – anything goes.

May 27 – We’ll be honoring Bob Dylan.

Pinkney Hall: April Themes

Because Pinkney Hall was not on the air a couple of Fridays in March and will not be on the air a couple of Fridays in April, we will be on the air until 11 on April 1 and will also be on the air from 10 until 11 on Monday, April  4. During the April shows, you will hear music with the following themes, along with newly released music and music from artists appearing in Pittsburgh:

Friday, April 1 –  We will be on the air from 9AM until 11AM, playing prison songs during the first part of the show and then honoring birthday boy Richard Thompson.

Monday, April 4 – We will play Balkan Gypsy music to get you ready for Pittsburgh shows by Esma Redžepovaand Fanfare Ciocarlia on April 21 and 22 respectively.

Friday, April 8 -Kenny Joe will once again be on the road.

Friday, April 15 – Kenny Joe expects to be preempted by the CMU Spring Carnival Buggy Races.

Friday, April 22 – We’ll send some Caribbean rhythms your way.

Friday, April 29 – Artists with April Birthdays will be honored on the last show of the month.


Pinkney Hall: March Themes

Every Friday morning, tune into Pinkney Hall. During March, you will hear music with the following themes, along with newly released music and music from artists appearing in Pittsburgh. All in  the space of one hour – 9 AM to 10 AM.

March 4 — Cover songs

March 11 — Prison songs.

There will not be any show the last two Fridays in March because Kenny Joe will be taking a long spring break to shake of the winter doldrums.
