Kansas Carries On in Court!

Back in 1976, a Pittsburgh radio DJ gave Kansas‘ “Carry On My Wayward Son” its radio debut. Soon, stations across the country followed Pittsburgh’s lead, making that song a truly global megahit. That was the beginning of a mutual love affair between the band Kansas and Pittsburgh music fans.

Tune in to WRCT Thursday, February 9 at 8:00 p.m. when when Kansas bassist and vocalist Billy Greer joins Eric Jackson Lurie on Court’s in Session. Eric and Billy will talk about Kansas’ new triple album, a retrospective called A Fork in the Road, their new single, and their upcoming 50th anniversary tour — that kicks off in Pittsburgh June 2 at the Benedum!

Heavy metal pioneer takes the stand!

Mick Box, guitarist and founding member of Uriah Heep, joins WRCT’s Court’s in Session Thursday, February 2, at 8:00 p.m. to talk about the band’s latest studio release, Chaos and Colour, and to celebrate a 50-year career.

Uriah Heep is considered one of the first heavy metal bands — one of the founders of the genre. With over 40 million albums sold, Heep has had a huge influence on the rock’n’roll, hard rock, and heavy metal landscape.

Mick will join your Rockin’ Attorney, Eric Jackson Lurie, to debut new songs and discuss the future of the band.

Deep Purple and Rainbow Vocalist Appears in Court

Legendary rock’n’roll singer Joe Lynn Turner will join your Rockin’ Attorney, Eric Jackson Lurie Thursday, November 3 on WRCT’s Court’s in Session. Joe was the front man for the classic bands Deep Purple and Rainbow when they produced some of their greatest hits including iconic FM radio staples such as “Stone Cold,” “Street of Dreams,” and “I Surrender.”

He will talk with us about his new solo album Belly of the Beast and the messages behind the songs on this the most serious album of his career.
