Thursday, November 7, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductee and legendary singer/bassist of the Moody Blues John Lodge returns to WRCT’s Court’s in Session to discuss his new album and tour.
With over 70 million Moody Blues albums sold worldwide, including 18 gold and platinum albums, John’s voice and songwriting are among the most recognizable in the rock ‘n’ roll canon. John was a member of the Moody Blues from 1966 to 2018. Even though the Moody Blues are no longer active, John has endeavored to keep the Moody’s music alive with a triumphant re-recording of one of the band’s classic albums: Days of Future Passed – My Soujourn.
Hear John and your rocking attorney, Eric Jackson Lurie, discuss the new album and his solo tour coming to West Virginia next week.
Classic artists… classic music… Court’s in Session; Thursday, November 7, at 8:00 p.m. EST right here on WRCT, 88.3 FM Pittsburgh and streaming at wrct.org.

Whiskey Before Breakfast on Wednesday November 6 is gonna be special. Mandorichard’s got two conversations planned — one in the 11:00 a.m. hour and one in the noon hour!
Just after the liquored up set, at about 11:15 a.m., banjoist Alison Brown will join the program to chat about her music, collaborating with Steve Martin and other musicians, her work as a producer, and the roots music label Compass that she co-founded in 1995. She’ll be in Pittsburgh for Calliope House on Friday, November 15. One of the most gracious people in bluegrass — or any part of the music industry. And one of the very best banjoists playing today!
Just past noon, Alice Howe and Freebo will join the program to talk about their music and their upcoming concert at Pittsburgh’s UU Songspace on Friday, November 8. If Freebo sounds familiar, it’s because he collaborated with lots of great acts from your parents’ time — Bonny Raitt, John Mayall, Dr. John, Ringo Starr, Maria Muldaur, The McGarrigle Sisters, and many more. Alice has a powerful voice capable of sharing a wide range of emotion. Freebo and Alice Howe have been working together for seven years, and they are knocking it out of the park as a duo!
If you miss these conversations on Whiskey Before Breakfast, you can hear them on demand on Mandorichard’s Mixcloud Page (Alice & Freebo available now; Alison Brown available November 9).
