Pittsburgh-based CMU students, WRCT community volunteers, and WRCT’s curated automation bring you exciting and diverse music and public affairs programming every day of the year, even when Carnegie Mellon University is not in session.

The Spring 2020 schedule will be posted in mid-January.

On Wednesday, November 20, Mark Tamsula and Richard Withers will stop by WRCT’s Whiskey Before Breakfast at about noon to play some of the tunes from their brand new release, Rural Valley Melodies: Old Time Music of SW Pennsylvania, on the air!

Listeners loved the great tunes and interesting conversation they heard the last time Mark and Richard came in to play live.

So tune in to 88.3 FM Pittsburgh at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday for Whiskey Before Breakfast, then hear Mark’s fiddle and Richard’s banjo and some great traditional music from southwestern PA at noon.

As always, the program will also be streaming from this very website.

At 9:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, WRCT and the Ace Hotel present DJ Shawn Watson, In The Weeds. Shawn will bring his genre busting all vinyl set to the Ace Hotel’s Lobby Bar, 120 South Whitfield St, Pittsburgh.

Shawn’s ITW debut will include classic Funk original breaks, obscure Rock bangers, accessible Punk and Post-Punk surprises, and an occasional Reggae Dub Excursion. He is an all vinyl DJ who has an extensive record collection in the Funk, Punk, Reggae and Rock genres. He has been on the air at WRCT 88.3 FM for over 10 years. His show, A Minute Pause, airs every Tuesday from 10am until 2pm.
