Southern Rock Royalty To Testify in Court

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, Henry Paul and guitarist Billy Crain of The Outlaws will join your rockin’ attorney, Eric Jackson Lurie, to talk about all things Outlaw and the band’s appearance with the Atlanta Rhythm Section Friday, November 10 at the Palace Theater in Greensburg. A lucky listener can win a pair of tickets to that show during this exciting episode of WRCT’s Court’s In Session!

With classic hits like “Green Grass and High Tides Forever,” “Gray Ghost,” “There Goes Another Love Song,” and their remake of “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” The Outlaws are one of the last southern rock supergroups still touring.

WRCT wins Greater Pittsburgh Community Radio Award

WRCT received the Community Radio Award at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Media Awards on October 19, 2023. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Media Awards celebrate media that bring awareness of the importance of free speech and accessible media so that more individuals can have their voices heard in the greater Pittsburgh community.

The Community Radio Award recognizes a noncommercial station in the region that offers unique programming as an alternative to those presented by corporate media and that provides the greatest opportunities for people to develop their broadcasting skills.

WRCT is honored to accept this award and is thankful to the events organizers, including PCTV, BPTV, MMTV, and City Channel Pittsburgh.

Whiskey Before Breakfast: Rachael Kilgour on September 20

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 20, Rachael Kilgour will join Mandorichard on WRCT’s Whiskey Before Breakfast. She’s an articulate songwriter from Duluth, MN, who has just released a new album, My Father Loved Me. She writes engaging and perceptive songs that are beautifully sung; her songs use lots of specific details that really connect her listeners to the stories she tells.

In addition to talking about her new album and her song-writing process, she’ll talk with us about her September 30 appearance at Pittsburgh’s SongSpace concert series.
